COCONUTS!

We bought Isaac's very first coconut today at the store. The entire day centered around the anticipation of Dad getting home so that he could crack it open.

So they poked holes in it and drained the milk out

Then used the hammer and cracked it open

Yeah!!

Dad tried to be funny by giving Isaac coconut boobsies, but he wasn't having any of it. Needless to say it was all in vain. After all that work Isaac got his first taste and didn't like it at all. He spit it out, and just wanted to play with it.

Like Father, Like Son

Isaac loves to do anything and everything that david does that he can possibly help with. David has been working hard at re-finishing the kitchen table and chairs. (Thank you SO MUCH Doug for all your help and advice!!! You were a lifesaver!!) He has a ways to go, but hopes to finish within the weekend, or by next.

Sprinkler Days of Summer

Summer started with a splash!
We went to our community pool this weekend which was a blast and the kids LOVED it, but I forgot the camera and didn't notice until we were at the pool.
Needless to say, we didn't get any photos of Briana's first swim (bad mommy) but she had tons of fun and tried to crawl into the pool. We did however get pictures of Isaac and David running through the sprinklers in our backyard.

The Century Long Battle

Between Peter Pan & Captain James Hook
With the re-realeasing of Peter Pan on DVD (which we HAD to buy of course) we had a heck of a battle in our house last night. First Peter Pan flew circles around Captain Hook, and then they battled, but instead of one of them dying, they ended up pals.
What a night!!

Part I

Sledding Part I...Here We Go!!!
We decided with the snow that we got last night & this morning that today would be a good day to go sledding. There is a good hill over by our house. Isaac wasn't too sure at first, but after going down the hill once he thought it was fun. He enjoyed it until he got a face full of snow.
Briana got in on the action too. We bundled her up as good as we could, since she doesn't have a snowsuit, and put her in Isaac's old sled. She loved it...as long as she was moving. The second we stopped she started growling. I just love the expression on her face!!

What Do You Know...

Ding Ding Ding...Round 6 Is Here...
It's not much snow, but it is still snow nevertheless.

He's Leaving...

In A Cardboard Jet Plane
It's almost as good as the real thing.
Especially with his Dad as his Co-Pilot.
My guys got good use out of this empty box. Isaac thought he'd died and gone
to heaven when David suggested that he climb inside and take a ride!!

The Great Sock Switch

Isaac put on David's socks and thought that it was hilarious!
He then decided that it would be even funnier to have David put on his socks.
He wears Davids socks every chance he gets.

Once There Was A Sno-Man

On Christmas Eve day we decided that we needed to make good use out of all the snow in the backyard, so David and Isaac made a snowman.
We heard that the snow doesn't get real good until closer to the end of winter, but decided to try it anyway. It was so windy and cold that most of the way through Isaac gave up and came inside. Poor David was left out there to finish him alone. He rolled snow for about an hour, and wasn't getting very far, so the snowman has a really tiny head and a big body. (Very smiliar to a picture of David that I have seen somewhere!)

Needless to say, he looks pretty weird. David couldn't even get eyes or a nose to stay stuck in him. The snow just kept crumbling. So our poor little snowman is naked with no face!! :(

There is always next time!!

The Calm After The Storm

Blizzard of 2006
On Wednesday the 20th we had a huge storm blow into town. It was so neat to see, although you really couldn't see anything. It was nice for David b/c he got 2 days off work. Well, actually 1.5 days b/c driving home wednesday took him almost 5 hours!!!
We were very glad that we hit up Columbia Sportswear before we left Oregon and got some snow clothes. All except Briana. So she and I stayed in the house and tidied up and made sure that the guys had some HOT COCOA when they came in.
Isaac was so excited to get all dressed up. Then he had to patiently wait for Dad to get ready.
A few minutes later, with shovels in hand, they braved the snow!!
They had a BLAST!!

We had planned a night out with Daniel and Tiffany watching Isaac for our 5 year wedding anniversary, but it didn't happen b/c the roads were closed so we couldn't go down there.

As you can tell by Tiff's site, they got a decent amount of snow down there too!!

The Rath the Blizzard Left Behind...

The Blizzard left a ton of snow!!
(About 28 inches if the beautiful white stuff)

We were so excited, especially Isaac.
It was quite a change from the freezing rain that we were used to in Oregon.
I didn't get any photos of it actually snwing, b/c the visibility was so terrible that you wouldn't even be able to tell what was what.
But here are the pictures of the aftermath:

This was the view outside our front door! WOW!! We had to shovel some to even get out the door. When we opened the door a ton fell inside.

Inbetween work they had to play!!

Isaac had so much fun rolling in it and making snowballs. He just kept throwing them at David.

The snow drifts were as tall as Isaac, maybe taller.
But it left the coolest wave!!

Behold..............

The Phantoms of the Horton House!!!
We were watching The Phantom of the Opera last night, and Isaac was excited every time he saw the Phantom. So he grabbed one of his blankets, (he does have a cape but the blanket was more exciting I guess) and had David tie it around him like a cape. Then he had David tie one around his neck and they both paraded around the living room like they were the
"Phantom of the Lopera".

Bumper Cars

These wouldn't download in the correct order, but here goes anyway....

Isaac loves to ride the Bumper Cars whenever we come out here....

Maybe next year I will be able to ride with him, but then again I am sure he will want to ride with his Dad. Those two are thick as thieves!!
