Johnny and his family will be moving in down the street in a couple weeks.

He will also be attending Kindergarten this year.

The Toasting of Marshmallows

After dinner last night we toasted marshmallows. Briana loved every ooey gooey minute of it. So did our little monkey. It's one of our favorite desserts!!

Day @ Denver Zoo

In order to give David some uninterrupted time to work on the backyard I took the kids to the zoo last Saturday.

We got there at around 10:30 in the morning at it was a balmy 75*. It was sunny and warm but not hot...yet. Almost all the animals were out and about until we were about ready to go. We had a great time. Later that day we went to our community BBQ and saw our neighbor jump out of a plane and parachute into the park. Isaac thought it was so cool!! After that we went swimming.

It was a very busy, fun day!!

Scuba Boy

Isaac met this cute little guy named Johnny that will be moving just down the street from us (and will be attending afternoon Kindergarten) at the pool the other day. He had 2 pairs of swim goggles and let Isaac borrow one. He thought that they were the coolest thing EVER!! He figured out that with them he could swim down deep and see under water. Which is funny b/c we bought him a pair a year ago and he wouldn't wear them. Now he won't swim without them.

4th of JULY!!

FIRECRACKER 4k

On the 4th of July I participated in my town's first annual Firecracker 4K Run/Walk. I did it with my next door neighbor, Aileen. It was tons of fun! Running outside was definitely harder than running in the gym!! I ran at a 10:18 mile/min pace. It sure was fun though - except for getting my butt kicked by the lady pushing FOUR kids in a three-child stroller (one older-child was standing on the back). I plan to do more races and work up to doing a big one as well as doing better in this one next year!!

A 40 Yard dash, and a Cow

Isaac and Briana ran in the kids' 40 yard dash and got cool ribbons as their prize. Isaac is a super fast runner. Briana was obsessed with the Chick-fil-A cow. (Chick-fil-A sponsors just about everything out here). Briana kept hugging his legs and giving him hi-fives. She cried when it was time to leave him and go home.

Later that nite

We had a nice steak dinner with Aileen from next door, (her hubby was fishing in Canada), and uncle Daniel who surprised us and came up for dinner and fireworks. We had a blast lighting them off in the street. I think we were just about the only ones in our neighborhood that lit fireworks off.

The kids thoroughly enjoyed the BOMB POP popsicles that Daddy brought home as a surprise on a very hot day.
